WELCOME TO INTUITIVE MOVEMENT SOOKE!

👋 Welcome! If you’re new to us, you’ll receive electronic intake forms after booking your appointment. Please complete them at least two days in advance so our therapists have time to review them before your visit. This helps ensure your entire appointment is focused on your care rather than paperwork. If you experience any technical difficulties, don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance!

PARKING: Parking is available both in the front and back of the building. Disregard the signs stating parking is only for Pizzability and Whiskers and Wages, as Intuitive Movement clients are also allowed to park there. Additionally, street parking is available by the park down the street from the clinic.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that we kindly request a minimum of 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations. This allows us to respect our therapists’ time and gives us the opportunity to fill the appointment slot. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of session. In the event of repeated cancellations, the appointment will be charged in full, at the discretion of the therapist. Cancellations due to illness or emergencies will not be charged a cancellation fee with sufficient notice and circumstances are considered. Thank you for your understanding and respecting our therapist time.

PRACTIONER BOOKING NOTES: - Kayla Wiens: Online booking may be limited at times to help manage the practitioner’s schedule, and not all appointments are available online. New clients are welcome but may be placed on a waitlist based on schedule availability. If no appointments are visible online, please join the waitlist, and she will contact you directly to arrange a suitable time.

Homeopathy, a widely practiced natural healing method, utilizes highly diluted substances to stimulate the body's innate healing abilities, promoting overall health. Developed by German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century, homeopathy operates on the principle of "like cures like." This principle suggests that substances capable of producing symptoms in a healthy individual can treat similar symptoms in a sick person. The Law of Similars, as it's known, has ancient roots and is found in various philosophical and medical traditions. Homeopathic remedies are prepared by diluting substances such as plants, minerals, or animal products and then vigorously shaking them, a process called potentization. Despite the extreme dilution, homeopathic remedies retain their therapeutic efficacy and are believed to enhance their healing properties.

Heidi completed her massage therapy diploma at Mount Royal University in Calgary, AB, in 2018, following a decade-long career in bookkeeping and corporate administration. After passing her board exams, she became registered with the College of Massage Therapists of BC in 2021. Heidi pursued massage therapy as a way to make a meaningful impact on others while exploring her growing interest in human health, holistic healing, and the mind-body connection.

Her practice is rooted in a biopsychosocial framework, beginning each appointment with a conversation to understand your history and lifestyle. This helps tailor the treatment to your unique goals and needs.

During your session, Heidi employs a blend of General Swedish techniques, joint mobilizations, and deep tissue modalities. Her approach aims to reduce overall tension by working with your nervous system. Addressing specific injuries and pain involves considering whole body dynamics. You’ll be encouraged to fully relax as she gently assesses muscle and joint integrity, releasing tissues as needed with an appropriate depth and quality of touch. The result is a deep sense of well-being and increased freedom of movement.

Originally from Southern Quebec, she has lived in Montreal, Calgary, and Banff, and now calls Vancouver Island home. In her free time, she enjoys sailing, hiking, and photography.
